What is an AI agent stack?
An AI agent stack is a small, organized set of AI roles, instructions, context, workflows, and review rules built around work a person already understands. Start with judgment, taste, craft, domain knowledge, relationships, and lived context. Define what good work looks like and where human expertise matters.
Assign bounded support
Give recurring parts of the work to clearly named roles: research, drafting, organization, review preparation, and follow-through. Route each request before asking one agent to do everything.
Package repeatable value
Turn proven workflows into roles, services, offers, products, content systems, or internal operating routines without pretending the agent owns the final decision.
Personal example
A person may already be good at planning family logistics but struggle to keep appointments, forms, school tasks, and follow-up visible. The Skill Stack is the person’s knowledge of priorities and constraints. The Agent Stack routes scheduling, documents, planning, learning, and family tasks to specialist prompts. The resulting Job Stack is a reusable weekly household command workflow, with the person approving messages, appointments, purchases, and family decisions.
Solopreneur example
A consultant may have strong delivery expertise but inconsistent research, content, sales follow-up, and operating review. The Skill Stack is the consultant’s expertise and customer judgment. The Agent Stack routes work to a Chief of Staff, Sales, Marketing, Product, Finance Organizer, Web Ops, or CRM role. The Job Stack becomes repeatable prospect research, follow-up drafts, offer development, launch QA, and weekly CEO review—with the owner approving outreach, prices, purchases, publishing, account changes, and customer commitments.
A stack is not a swarm for its own sake
More agents do not automatically create more value. Start with one bottleneck, one clear output, one reviewer, and one saved workflow. Add specialist roles only when routing reduces confusion or repeated manual work. Keep sensitive data, regulated advice, irreversible actions, and external communication behind explicit human review.
